Penken Park
Did we mention that the Penken Park at Actionberg Penken is one of the best and most diverse in the Alps and all of Europe? We'd even say it's the best but as Mayrhofers we're probably a little biased. Six different areas inspire beginners, advanced and absolute freestyle cracks alike in the Horbergtal at the Penken. You can expect a Pro Area, Advanced Area, Advanced Jib Area, Medium Area, Medium Jib Area and a Kids Area for the snowboard geeks of the future. The Penken Park has its own 4-seater chairlift that takes you to the beginning of the park – as often as you like. In addition to jumps, ramps, rails, slides, boxes, wallrides, corners and hips, the Penken Park also includes fluid lines and well-worn obstacles as well as the gigantic multi-jib "Beastbox". Freeriding in the Zillertal
Freeriding is also for skiers. But we think it's only fair to include this point on this page, where otherwise only ski resorts are mentioned. In and around Mayrhofen there are countless freeride areas for snowboarding on the finest powder snow. The whole Zillertal is a freeride paradise. Endless expanses, lush powder and not a single track: the honour is yours.
Plunge down the slope and float towards the valley. Over 65 freeride runs await you between 1,000 and 2,000 meters above sea level-that is, where the crème de la crème of fresh snow is at home. In the skiing area of Mayrhofen and the skiing areas of the Zillertal you don't even need to carry your snowboard on your back: 80 % of the runs can be reached by lifts, which take you up to heights of 3,250 metres. From November to May there is a 100% snow guarantee. This means that most of the 300 kilometres of freeride area are skiable. Our tip: If you have little experience in freeriding, it is best to take a local freeride guide. And even professionals are advised to check the avalanche situation regularly. Safety first.
