As a family business that has grown over time, we always have the future in mind: We want the next generations to be able to experience the natural wealth of the high mountain nature park Zillertal Alps around our Resort Hotel Neuhaus in Mayrhofen as we do today. In order to preserve this natural diversity, we have to protect our planet. Therefore, since many years the Neuhaus Zillertal Resort brings sustainability into focus. We take responsibility, pay attention to valuable resources and rely on regionality.
We always go one step further, especially when it comes to climate-friendly energy supply. We already use heat recovery in our laundry, ironing room and cooling systems. On our roofs we rely on renewable radiation energy with photovoltaics and solar thermal energy.
Our flat roof greening with lavender is not only looking fantastic in summer, but also supports our bees and promotes biodiversity. At the same time, lavender fields on the roof store water, filter out dust and noise and even out temperature differences. Speaking of biodiversity, our meadow orchard with ancient apple and pear trees is a real paradise for insects.
Due to our proximity to the mountain railways and the excellent connection to the public transport network, the entire Zillertal is also just a stone's throw away for you - and that even very comfortably and resource-saving by train.
Our further steps towards a sustainable future
We reduce waste & conserve resources
We do not automatically put your plastic-packed slippers in your wellness bag, as many of our guests already have their own with them. This is how we reduce enormous amounts of waste.
You will find your morning mail every day at the entrance to our breakfast buffet - not at your breakfast table as usual. This is how we save paper!
In the future we will avoid unnecessary waste with digital guest information.
We print our new printed matters such as house brochures or pension menus on environmentally friendly recycled paper.
Almost a matter of course, but still not for everyone: loosen the room card contact & switch off the light, don't throw towels on the floor every day, use them several times & of course ventilate the hotel room really efficiently.
We are what we eat: fresh, seasonal, local & without waste
In the kitchen, we rely primarily on local partners and producers and guarantee short transport routes.
Some products come from our own farm, from our farmer's gardens & from our orchards.
It is very important to us to waste as little food as possible. Vegetable waste produced in the kitchen and in the garden is composted and later applied to our fields, meadow and farm gardens as organic fertilizer. To close the ecological cycle: in winter our cows mainly get the hay from our surrounding meadows and the pigs our corn.
Local and regional. We act according to these values every day, because the preservation, care and development of our cultural landscape in the Stilluptal and on the Penken are among the most important tasks for us as long-established farmers.
We want a 100% climate-friendly energy supply!!!
Our biggest goal is to establish a CO2-neutral solution for the energy supply, because we want to become 100% ENERGY SELF-SUFFICIENT in the next few years. For us, sustainability not only goes up with the expansion of the photovoltaic systems, but also down with the future groundwater pump.
Of course, the infrastructure for electric cars is being expanded and continuously improved.
