Since 2024, we have been awakening this hidden power: Using thermal groundwater energy and state-of-the-art photovoltaic systems, we are creating a virtually CO₂-neutral energy network. A cycle of nature that flows through our new bathhouse and all wellness and spa areas. That connects all Neuhaus buildings. And that preserves our values as a sustainable nature hotel in Tyrol and the beauty of the Zillertal for future generations.

That’s why we rely on photovoltaics, solar thermal energy, and heat recovery systems – from our laundry facilities to our refrigeration technology. A unique ecosystem thrives on our green flat roof: fields of lavender and hardy succulents promote biodiversity, retain precious water, and help transform dust and noise into clean mountain air. And even more nature awaits just minutes away – easily and climate-consciously accessible via nearby cable cars and an excellent public transport network.

It’s hard to believe how much energy lies dormant deep beneath our feet. With two wells and three high-performance heat pumps – delivering a total of 1.5 megawatts – we bring this hidden power to life.
Our heat pumps gently harness the natural energy of groundwater, generating warmth through a fascinating cycle of compression and expansion. Pure, sustainable heat – and a feeling that simply does you good. Powered by 100% certified green electricity, which accounts for just a fraction of the energy produced.
For every kilowatt of electricity used, more than four kilowatts of heat are generated. Even the cooled water isn’t wasted: it helps create the perfect indoor climate in our marketplace, gently tempers the buffet area, the restaurant, and the new guest rooms – all without the need for conventional air conditioning.
